The People Behind The Printing

Our very own founder Jay... Where to start! Jay has certainly come a long way from printing in his grandma's shed. Learning from experience has meant he’s spearheaded tons of great projects and initiatives to keep supporting a scene that he knows and loves very well. As the business and core team continues to grow, Jay spends more time working on ways to improve Grey Jam’s services. This means developing new ideas, sourcing materials and exciting new processes that can mean more possibilities to help grow our scene!

Emma heads up our sticker department and has done for just over a year now. As an Illustrator herself, she dabbles in lots of creative things. You might have even seen some of her drawings which have recently found their way onto clothing through her own brand Stuff and Nonsense. Stuff and Nonsense combines two of Emma’s favourite things, graphics and fashion. It’s a great job fit since all her designs are printed by hand, right here at Grey Jam Press. Once printed, the materials are then sewn together to make clothing and accessories. Go on Emma!

When it comes to printing on clothing, Ben’s our guy! He looks after our printed garments and has been for 2 years now. Ben and Jay met in their previously shared studio and quickly got involved working together. Hard work and enthusiasm always tend to be easy things to bond over! About working at Grey Jam, Ben says “I don’t think there’s been a dull day since 2020”.. Which might well just replace our Tacky and Upsetting motto. Ben’s passion for printing has also translated to his own clothing outfit - Mild Pass. Yes Ben!
